Just a piece of good info moving into the off-season. The NHL raised their cap +4.5 million. This makes the NHL cap $88M. For comparison, last year's NHL cap was 83.5, and our GHL cap was 86. If we keep with the 2.5m over the NHL cap trend (not sure when we got away from the 5m over the NHL), that should put us roughly at $90.5M. Will be interested to see where the Commish falls on this significant cap bump

I think it will allow all teams to overpay even more for short and or long term players. That being the case, I think we need to implement this as usual.
I do think there is room to change some of the mechanics for player contract management to start next off season. These would be geared more towards reviewing the tools currently used to mitigate the balance of retaining UFAs without drying up a large part of the UFA pool in a given year.

No change from prior years. The cap will increase by the same amount as the NHL.
