So I have Lehner, injured all year but not retired. I can waive him for free or be able to retain for 100k correct?
I'd like to retain him but don't want his contract to extend a year since chance he will retire before contract up. Is that possible? Essentially want to retain and make sure contract still ends 2026 not extend to 2027.

Think I just talked myself into just waiving him but still curious how this works.

I had this situation with Atkinson last season. As the rule is right now, if you retain, the contract extends one year

So I can retain Matt Murray for 100K? No. Matt Murray should have a card since he played 3 games in the AHL last season. Glenn will have to correct that. theahl.com/stats/player/4891
