Question: Can they be purchased? No sir. The way FPs work right now is they are earned in game only.

Question: Can they be purchased? No sir. The way FPs work right now is they are earned in game only. You can buy them from me. $10 for 1, 3 for $25, 7 for $50...or go for the best value at 15 for $100.

They get all the free 'drops' they want as a new owner. That's huge IMO.

Tony unfortunately it takes a good year to get up to speed it's very tough to get all the neeonces of the game in a month or two the best thing u can do is trade for youth and hold onto your draft picks .... Of course I don't do that but I know I should lol sometimes and SAL will agree with this u need to rebuild on the fly instead of wasting a season so that's what I've been trying to do the team I took over was in the finals the year before BUT most of the players I took over had down seasons so there cards weren't the same oh well I've learned and understand what this league is all about now .... Tony it's a GREAT league and Glenn does a fucking unbievable job at keeping all us hockey clowns in check so hang in there give it time and it will hit u like a punch to the head and everything about this league will make sense this goes for the other new guys too just hang in there and make smart moves if u need advice just message me good luck

Thanks Thunder Bay. That would be huge. I wanted Chicago as my team and paid right away but Glenn said he was saving it for someone. I took this team instead and it sucked. I have to drop a lot of guys and who ever was drafting for this team clearly wasn't trying very hard. I have had to work alot to get my shelves stocked. However it seems no one else wants to help me get up to speed. I would love to be able to make my team better but its hard with learning all the new rules, figuring out what all these numbers mean, having managers constantly telling me what they think I should do and then only be able to make as many trades as my points allowed. I drafted a couple years for that team. I also made the playoffs with that team based on lineup management ALONE...no trades..no franchise points. Quit whining.

I must weigh in I suppose. Chicago...the easy way out. St. Louis (Pittsburgh)...a team in a building phase with a very promising young defensive core that were all there when you took over. Come on, Pietrangelo, Larsson, Leddy, can you say building blocks? You also had the Vezina trophy winner by the way and sent him packing. You brought in a solid netminder to replace him in the long run and have made some nice pick ups through trades and what not, well on your way and building from the net out. I guess I don't see what the complaining is about. Did you just want to win it all now? I would have chosen this team over Chicago every day of the week, more fun for the hockey mind. It's a promising team, embrace it, have fun with it.
As far as saying no one is willing to help, I believe I reached out when you first came aboard and have never seen a pm to ask for any help, don't recall you posting any questions to be answered on the forum. I am more than willing to help any owners who have questions but can't do so unless they ask.
I am not trying to single out Tony here but he does seem to be the most active of the new guys and is the one here lodging complaints so that is what I chose to respond to.
As far as the thread is concerned, I don't think new owners should pay less for trades, mostly because of the lack of realism, of course. You're not going to see Jim Nill or Craig MacTavish get any mulligans this season are you?

I weighed in about some of the deals I saw going down, and was told to mind my own business, and the deals keep coming. I don't see why the league should offer concessions now. Unlimited free drops? that's a pretty good one already. Game on...

I'm sick of seeing bickering about rules and the "new guy" this and that stuff, blah blah blah!
There has always been a big brother type watchdog alliance with the GM's. but, last season in came the largest influx of new owners whom most were friends previously. Someone complained over and over about rules and then started to split the ownership with some rediculous "old versus new" crap.
If any new owner feels that there are "old" GMs screwing them, speak up or let Glenn know, the problem will be solved instantly!!! But, if you keep crying wolf and listening to the one "new" GM that keeps spreading the negativity, your not enjoying yourself and frankly ruining it for everyone else!
We all joined the league to come and have fun...not to be a bunch of whiny spoiled little children.
I also pm'ed Tony St Louis offering assistance, without a return reply as well. I assumed he had a grasp. I'm just getting sick and tired of hearing the same "new" guy spreading falsehoods about the "old"!!! Player selections and team Rosters are opinionated...trust who you want, but none of us are the evil people Whom you think we are...enough BS, can we just play the game and have fun without the nonsense!

I would think that half points for new guys like myself would be helpful. Then again I benefit directly. Even if this went into effect next year I would be for it. It is very hard being new to this league. If we post something we are whinners, the rule book doesn't explain very much, all this data is overhelming, and some of the trades I receive ar laughable. Only one manager took the time to write me out a detailed list of how these "cards" as he called them worked and the key numbers to look for like fortitude and stamina for example. I have learned more from him than any other manager, and the guy in charge combined. He taught me everything he learned from being a new manager last year and gave it to me for free. I haven't had any real problems with any managers but I did receive these 2 trade offers just weeks after I joined that I thought were notible of sharing as a manager just posted. Kyle Turris and Tyler Johnson for Bobby Ryan and the teams 2014 3rd, 4th and 5th and Kyle Turris and Douglas Murray for Hemsky, Orlov, Falk/2014 2nd Rd Pk I have since learned that these 2 managers who I won't name have been shopping these players for a while and I was the new fish they thought they could pawn them off on. Other trades I have received weren't as bad, but there is a lot of crap that ends up in my PM box here, so much I stopped checking it daily. I hope that the games are more fun than the offseason here. I fully intend to play hard this season and will make my decision if I will be back as I only paid for one year. You guys asked for my opinion as a new manager and you have it. Rod, in due time my friend....in due time...you will learn just like we all learned! IMO, both of those trades you posted ( without mentioning names...JOKE...) are fair offers! Oh, did you want to win the Cup this season??? Or, are you trying to build a competing team for the future? OR BOTH? But, by judging from your post, you feel as though I am a fool who is looking to rip you ( and probably others ) off....So, You can trust that one GM all you want....but that's exactly the GM who has been splitting this league in two!!! So, good luck with that...enjoy your alliance!! Your gonna do great!
