I'm all for mirroring the NHL, always have been, but I think the NHL is required to be more stringent with the rules concerning this because of the complications in salary structure compared to our straight forward contracts. We don't have real No movement clauses, if we did, the trade that happened today would be impossible. We can't retain player salaries. We don't have 2 way contacts, etc.

So what was your point in posting all of that, just information?

that is how the NHL is doing it...a guide just like my draft points chart. In the end Glenn will run his league as he sees fit. That was my point....hopefully by the trade deadline an official format will be displayed.

Agreed, I'd also like to see the official rules released before the time is upon us as it is approaching rapidly. Plus, it sounds like Matt and Jon were pitching the league last night and I'm also working on bringing my cousin in, just waiting on an opportunity to sit down with him when we are both free.

Just to put my thoughts in here on the expansion team I've been running Washington and had them in the playoffs last year and they will make it in this year as well as the bottom 6 teams have given up already in that conference ...I have drafted well for them better then my own team maybe I should learn from myself lol but I did win a cup thanks to Syracuse ....with that being said having a new owner take over the expansion team without help from Glenn or a senior member of the league will be a big mistake it takes a good year or so to learn all the ins and outs of how things work in the league .... I would love to help a team out and maybe we should form a group to help out the expansion team pick players ....just a couple of thoughts Glenn ...oh and if I didn't mention it a big thank you to Syracuse for helping me win the cup last year 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸MAGA

Also agreed, my hope was to have a manager for the expansion team with us this year to get in a season of following along before the team takes mold but since that didn't happen, I also think some sort of committee or mentor would be a great idea.

I'm in agreement with Joe and Scott here. I think it would be good to have a few different owners, allow the new owner(s) to hear different ideas on how to run a team.

An expansion draft being something we've never done before and the overall complexity of the league--definitely a good idea for a new expansion owner to gave some training wheels for a bit.

I am all for a 1 year helper.
To bad guys like me and some other owners weren't afforded those assests when we took over a team.
