F points are all 'wacky' now anyway. They used to be damn near spot on and worked to make trades more realistic. Now they are doled out by the bushelfull. 1 point....5 points....meh I'd tend to agree... but I may retract that once it comes time to try and re-sign any UFA's I want to keep in Moncton.

Typical Cornwall attitude. This, from the guy who bangs a "mirror the NHL" drum at every turn. For it to be actual whining, would I not have to be pushing for myself to be part of the team selection process? You'd think...

Just think of all the crowing you can do after we lose! Then you get to rub it it!

I wasn't going to announce this, but maybe I should. Since I am friends with Jim as well as sick of our conference losing, I submitted a team roster and quick line up to him for his consideration on picking his all star team. He concurred with about 90% of my picks. The way I selected the players were: #1 - their GHL year / stats #2 - coming from a leader point team - Quebec gets 2-3 slots, Hartford 2, and some other considerations if the GHL team is excellent. #3 - fan favourite player on a team had @ 3rd most impact - Subban, Weber ect #4 - GHL card As you can see, it's heavily weighted for GHL stats but ALSO includes picks for good GHL cards. The teams (mine included) that did not have the big offensive guys were selected to contribute a defenseman - Cornwall, Hershey, NJ, Syracuse. I the end it's all good. Fun stuff, no matter how you do it. P.S...so now I have attached myself to the curse by helping Jim. P.S.S. It's a good thing Cornwall suks this year then, so I really am playing with house money. No use worrying about it now, and thanks Phil, for assisting our conference in Jim's absence...but in future, I move that the 2nd highest ranked team in the conference be the assistant GM. That said, I'm interested in your selection process, Phil...our conference actually had a bit of an advantage in that the POW released their roster first. That would afford us opportunity to be a little more systematic in our matchups, by pitting the conference's best opponents against their team's with a view to exploiting any weaknesses. A guy may have great shooting numbers, but if his skating is average, we could exploit this by pitting a faster guy with the ability to back check against him. Selecting Hank based on his performance this year was probably an OK choice, but, MON wins with Hank based on the support our D provides in terms of denying space, having active sticks, and things like lane control. Were these elements factored into your roster, or was it simply an arbitrary decision by you? Just curious...

Gotta admit, pretty presumptuous by you to go ahead and speak on behalf of the conference, unbeknownst to the rest. Hartford has done a masterful job this year, and I'd personally have preferred his input. Look at those special teams numbers, goal differential, etc. Thats the team I'm most concerned with facing in the playoffs.

Owen, we don't want to win this game anyhow. The winning GM has historically gone on to lose the Finals or not even make it to the finals. Jim knows exactly what he's doing by allowing Phil to meddle in it the midst. He know's!!!!! The Curse is true!!!
Jed doesn't want any part of that!

Without objection, I think we should award the teams in the winning conference 5 franchise points (I think in the past we only allotted 1 or 2). Hmm I guess Glenn objected. Because a GM who won the right to pick a team picked a team NY didn't like?...makes sense First of all, I don't know wtf you're even talking about, I didn't object to anything. I simply pointed a player who didn't belong in my opinion. Chris and Jim earned the right to pick the teams as they see fit, I have no say in anything, just an opinion like everyone else. You can agree or disagree, I don't care either way. Secondly, and this isn't pointed at you but towards the suggestion to re-select either team. And again, only my opinion, leave the rosters alone, these are the rosters that were selected by the GM's who earned the right to select them. Enough said.

BTW...I'm not lobbying for a roster re-submit or change either....I think the rosters just reflect the best of what the Campbell has to offer and what the Prince of Wales has to offer. Based on what is presented, If Vegas odds makers were to create a line, I believe it would be something along these:
Prince of Wales: +3 Campbell: -3
Over/Under: 11.5
My prediction is Campbell-8 POW-3 ( I'm taking Campbell and the under )

Gotta stand behind the strongest conference and say Campbell lights up Bishop and wins...And we break the curse, yes, I said it...

Good thing injuries are turned off or Brock Nelson would be leaving with a broken ankle as a result of getting danced by Carter who no doubt torches him with relative ease at every turn. And any third D pairing featuring Brent Burns is likely to make you wish you stayed home. Stepan's a nice piece with speed to burn but does he even touch the puck with a Crosby/Malkin tandem out there? And with the disparity between POW's OFF and what we have as a third pairing, the POW bottom 6 is about to feast on Campbell. Booking a private 4-hour session with Anthony Robbins for Henrik immediately following the event. I'm saying 8-3 POW with Sid and Carter both netting a pair each. EDIT: Tavares Tarasenko and Kane score for Campbell. Burns, Toffoli, Doughty and Malkin also for POW. Shots on goal: +40 POW, -30 Campbell.
