I don't want to hi-jack this discussion nor detract from Jed's points.
This discussion contradicts, I think, the discussion we have had a few times regarding AHL/NHL stats and GHL Goalie Card creation.
Time and time again, an AHL goalie who had a few games in the NHL normally yields an above average GHL card. But, it seems it's the opposite for Forwards and D-men.
I'm not arguing that any AHL player who plays a few NHL games deserves to have an above average GHL card...I'm actually suggesting that this type of player "Does Not Deserve" to have a GHL card that is worthy of a Starting Goalie or a Top Six Forward or Top Line Defender.
This is another one of my personal pet peeves...I even think I've mentioned it once or twice...(smiley face emoji)
We really need to solidify a few things before we progress into the next season and/or player card development for 23-24. I'm willing to help out in any way I can. Possibly a few others can do the same. We have quite a few Gm's with excellent understanding even if we have differing opinions. Stats are stats. You can lean on us a little Glenn. We know there's a lot we ask for.

I have a question, and it's most likely my dumb brain or stubbornness...I just don't get it or don't understand it....LOL..
Here goes...
Why do some goalie cards (I'm not going to give names unless it is imperative, because some of them are speculative targets of mine) have good OVERALL AGGREGATE RATINGS but Lower scores in sub categories, and some goalie cards have LOWER OVERALL AGGREGATE RATING and Higher scores in sub categories?
Here's an example of two such goalie cards:
Goalie (A) has a 63-70 Card. Sub Category scores of All 4's and 5's and one 7.
Goalie (B) has a 62-62 Card. Sub Category scores of All 6's and 7's with two 5's.
I would think, the way my brain works, that the Higher Sub Cat's would be on the 64-70 card. Can this be explained? Or, is this because things have not been finalized with Goalies yet? Or, doesn't matter?

Cards have not been stat-raked yet. I am running those programs this morning.

Beck Malenstyn...
Signed in 2019 by Boston for 100k
No card last season and I do not see him on Boston's team page yet I do not see him showing as draftable or a UFA.
Can we get a status on him please?

Can we get a status on him please? I will have to have a look see. If he signed him for 100k it was a minor league deal and if he didn't have a card last year he should have be a UFA.

I wasn't sure if he should be draftable because he's under 25 and has never been drafted or if he would be a UFA

I had a similar question, especially with the new prospect rules. Are all players, regardless if they are a prospect or not, only in the GHL draft once? And if that’s the case, these players would become UFAs and lose their prospect status, correct?

Scott, any players who had a contract (even a minor league one) will not be draftable. If he has a card this year he should show up as draftable
Brenden, players will remain draftable while 25 or under unless they had been drafted prior or been signed as a UFA.

It seems like there are quite a few draftable players who should have “prospect” status, but do not.

If you can name a few and the page you are seeing them on I would be happy to look. It's obviously something we want to get nailed down before the draft starts.

Page one, both players in the undrafted section...
Player card tabs not working for those players so it might related to that

There seems to be a disconnect between the central scouting page and the player card page under “draftable players.” Two examples would be Rossi and Reichel. Both are showing as prospects in central scouting but not the player card page.
In addition, JJ Moser is showing as undrafted on central scouting but was drafted in the 2021 NHL draft.

It looks like there are some player cards missing for new draftable players as Scott mentioned before. It seems as if most are for players who played in both the NHL and AHL last season.
Another note, Owen Power's page is linking to Reid Duke.

Central scouting and the draft page were using unique queries to identify the prospect status or not. The draft page was using the old code and this has now been updated to reflect the new prospect rules accordingly. Thanks for pointing these out because prospect status this year is going to impact many more players and it's important to get them properly identified prior to draft start.
I will have to review the player card link not working for the cards that Scotty mentioned.
If you watch the how to use the central scouting page I discuss that not all guys will link if a player has a slightly different name from the prospects site to our cards. Like Matt versus Matty, or Nick versus Nicholas.
