If I remember correctly, players on minor league contracts who don’t have a card the next year will become UFA when they have a card again. I don’t think the 100K retain is able to be used on minor league contracts.
If I’m wrong though, Oregon retains Tanner Dickerson.

Brenden is correct. If a guy on a minor league deal disappears for a year, rights to him disappear as well. That's why its best to sign guys to GHL contracts which offer protection from this.

L'Esperance does have a card. It's just LEsperance, not L'Esperance, which is why it probably wasn't connected to your team page.
