I don't have to flip a switch for this to happen. The engine turns it on automatically once a certain number of days have passed since the beginning of the season. I would have to look at the code to be sure but I think its somewhere between 2 and 3 weeks (leaning more towards the 2 week point).
As has been mentioned, guys who have been playing one of the their goalies hard will see a big drop until they give them at least one game off.

So I've only had Enroth play once in the last 7 days, is his stamina so bad that it really dropped him to green? Was it that bad of a game against Johnstown or what? So far he's only played 3 games total. Just trying to get a feel for how I need to play things.
I will admit his GAA is pretty nice regardless.

The code evaluates many things that are listed in the use thread. Let's say we are at the halfway mark of the season and a backup goalie has played 30 out of a teams 41 games. Even if this player would have had a few games off, since percentage of games played per season is factored in, his overuse for the year will trump the days off he is coming off of and he will still suffer in stamina. Now, its important to remember that green is normal with him losing no points and blue is well rested where he can gain a few points.

See my post immediately above your post. You have played him 6 out of 9 games so far. In reality, he only played 24 games in total last year. So the governor kicks in an attempt to keep him from being fresh for 54 games this year (82*.66 [his current workload]). Also keep in mind green is fine, he is just not getting a fresh bonus (blue). Also, as you continue to use him this hard he will turn yellow much quicker as well.

BUMP Just bumping this for the playoff bound teams. REMEMBER...Goalies DO NOT RESET at the end of the season. Nor, after each round. An accurate and good point Chris. BUMPING!!!!

Something go weird with last nights games?
Halifax and Pittsburgh both had their starters pulled around 5-7 mins into the game. No injuries, no penalties, no goals allowed by them even. Both were the home team.

Any player can be injured and forced to miss game time. Players could be injured for a set period of minutes, the remainder of a period or even the remainder of a game. This is in addition to players getting injured mid-game in which case they would have been pulled at the time of their injury and not come back at all in the game (as their injury was measured in games and not minutes/periods as described above.
This happened to Cornwall's goalie late in game 1 or 2 of our series.

Kucherov only played 3 mins of entire game
Stone played 7 mins.
Both 1st line players.
