All,
This is just a heads-up to take note of how often you are using your goalies and what their stamina ratings are.
I was working yesterday on the goalie usage formulas and should have them wrapped up sometime this weekend. What you will see beside each goaltender is a colored button.
Each of the colors/icons will alert you as to your goalies status. With that status you will be able to determine your goaltenders fitness going into your next game.
Green Check - Fresh. Goalie has the chance to have a few extra points added to their goalie card for the game. The potential number added will a random number ranging from 0-3 (or possibly 4) based upon the goalies Big Save number.
Blue "i" - OK. Goalie is not fresh but he is not being over worked either. He will have no adjustments made to his ratings for the game
Yellow "!" - Overworked. Goalie is getting too much play and needs some games off. He will have a negative adjustment to his stats of up to 10%. He also will be at a slightly higher chance of injury
Orange "!" - Fatigued. Goalie is getting much too much play and needs some games off. He will have a negative adjustment to his stats of up to 30%. He also will be at a higher chance of injury
Red "X" - Fatigued. Goalie is spent and unable to play. He needs some games off. Goalies who reach this level will not be able to be used until their status changes to a higher status.
The following items go into determining a goalie status. The goalies stamina will be used in each of the following functions to determine game status:
Consecutive games played
% of games played as a function of total games played
Number of games played in last 30 days (rolling)
Number of games played in last 60 days (rolling)
Remember, the higher the stamina the more these players can be used. Also know that if you are riding a guy who really was a backup in the NHL last year (and his stamina is low), by using him game after game you may put his status so low that his stats are down for a game or even so low that he could be unavailable for some games.
Post any questions regarding this topic here for open discussion.
