Ouch...good lesson learned. Young Chris will have to eat dat salary. He can bask in the afterglow of his 19 first round picks though. I'd LOVE to take that tradeoff.

Question, are we allowed to waive players on entry level deals, if so, how would this work seeing as there are no savings realized on these types of contracts?

When is the waiver deadline? I'm contemplating waiving a guy but want to see how things turn out first.

When is the waiver deadline? I'm contemplating waiving a guy but want to see how things turn out first. All of the dates will be rolled out once the cards are done. I will be hitting them like a MFer this weekend again. The drop dead date for waiving a player will need to happen prior to the UFA process which will most lilely start in mid to late July. (this based on the draft going off mid July).

Just thought I'd clean this up a little, here's what we have so far...
COR - S. Clemmensen $.0475M NJO - N. Lidstrom $1.23M HAM - J. Harding $3.925M STP - G. Brule MCT- S. Avery TOR - T. Holmstrom $2.142M DET - S. Upshall $1.06M HAL - G. Latendresse $.940M NYA - Y. Gourde $0 MTL - S. Horcoff $1.40625M BAL - M. Lundin $.450M JHN - T. Selanne $.24075M ADK - M. Roy $.04125M
No cards for Avery and Brule so I couldn't do the math. Wasn't sure the outcome of Holmstrom. If you'd like to move this post to the top of the thread, I can keep it up to date as we go.

I thought a player with only ONE year left in his FHL contract is waived at 100% savings / total salary gone....??
also, we should put a Deadline on the Drop process here - a few more days and close it so we can move on....
In the 'domino effect' scheme of things, the waiver/player drop and resulting CAP number difference is huge and important to get sorted out quickly, so the potential FA jockeying can occur.

I believe you have to pay the savings on the contract for the final year of his deal, Glenn can correct me if I'm wrong. We still have plenty of time though before free agency with the draft not even tentatively scheduled to take place for another week.
