You can only put a player with a 1 or 2 fortitude into LTIR. And you can't do that until the season starts. Unfortunately Schneider has a 5 fortitude. |

Commish - checking. If so, he doesn't have to be released, he just won't be resigned.
I just checked, You can retain him for 100k or let his contract expire and be done with him.
