Boys, Please make your test pick on the draft page if you haven't made one already. This is more for identifying guys who are disengaged and not following the proceedings as much as it is to see if you remember how to draft. This way we can identify and confirm their participation earlier as opposed to later. Thanks! done

Given the fact that the NHL draft may include teams from outside the bottom 7 in the top 3 spots in conjunction with the fact that they wont be announcing these teams until mid August (well after our draft will have taken place) we will ne forced to use the card draft this year to determine round 1 seeding. Again, the NHL draft order show Friday night has no bearing on our draft at all this year.
I will be televising the draft order card selection on Twitch in the very near future. My hope is that it will be sometime next week.

Goalie Fort/Stam has been added and the asking prices regenerated. I know this was holding up a few potential deals so you should be good to go now.
I will review a few cards as requested in the card bitch/boast thread at some point this weekend as well.

Toronto and Halifax have both been logged in within the last 24 hours and still haven't made a test pick. Cincinnati? With those 3, that leaves a possibility of 4 open teams. Get those picks in. If you know any of these owners, please reach out. I have text Milwaukee but to no avail.
Updated UFA rules?
Updated Waiver rules?
Bueller, Bueller...

So last year we started the draft mid July. I guess we’re still “on schedule” so to speak, but I’m sure the sooner we figure out the draft order and finalize any rules that are being changed (if any) the better. Plus having a date seems to flush out those last few owners that we have questions about. Any chance?

I believe it was just last year that we were still doing free agency in September, after all. After years of the process, I have gotten used to the thickness of the sweet syrup. There have been a couple years where I thought, hell, I don't need this caramelized creation this bad, but my sweet tooth always keeps me coming back for more. The one thing that I have realized, however, is that the extremely excruciating wait gives the league time to tweak little bugs found after card release and also gives the teams a chance to do the research that they should have been doing all year (but didn't) to prepare for the off season.

We are very close the setting draft date but the status of the following franchises is unknown:
Alaska Chicago
Milwaukee Milwaukee is now paid up and good to go. Montreal
If you know them and can find out if they are participating this year that would be great.
I will send out one last email to them but if we don't hear from them by 7/8, we will need to operate on the assumption that they are not coming back this year. We will then assign franchises to stewards to handle drafting until said time that replacements can be found.
One way or another, we will be kicking off the early open window of the draft in about 2 weeks.
On another note, if we have a few guys, or at least 1, who can join via the twitch channel tomorrow, I will do the draft order selection. Please reply here if you are able to attend this around 7:30 PM EST.

Setting a time on my calendar for alerts, I'll be there or be hip, Huey Lewis style.

I should be able to attend the lottery tomorrow evening Sounds good Scotty. Just to be sure I am clear, no team can slide more than 3 spots correct? If so, then the first 3 unique cards drawn are the only ones that matter.

That is correct. The NHL draws 3 lottery balls and those 3 teams get the first 3 picks and then everyone else is slotted in place. So the 1st ball would be for #1 overall with 15 teams in the draw. The 2nd ball for #2 with 14 teams, the last for #3 with 13 teams.

Draft board has been updated with correct slotting based on last nights lottery (for round 1) and 19-20 season performance for subsequent rounds.
If you see anything that looks amiss, please alert me.
Draft will most likely officially open up on 7/24 with the early window opening at least 1 week before hand.
Still waiting to hear from 2 users and have those 2 and Chicago do their test bids.
