Is it just me or does it seem like there’s a lot of offense so far?

I think Glenn set the time line on the league to the early 80’s when Gretzky was scoring 200 plus points a year … the great one had seasons over 200 from ‘82 through ‘86 with a lone season under at 196

LOL, I was thinking of posting something similar along the lines of the 1980s called and they want their NHL play style back.
I was doing some analysis yesterday and noted that guys are getting into the crease area and scoring from in close all too often. This is I believe related to the lessening of shots going wide which wont be evident to all until games are broadcast on the twitch channel again.
I have lifted the hood and adjusted some tables to bring this more into what we would expect in today's NHL. The new engine code has been promoted so we can monitor for the next few days to see if additional tinkering is required.

Previous nights stats hadn't been working the last couple of days so I took a look this AM and made an adjustment to accommodate for a change that the sportsforecaster site made. These should be working again moving forward...

Sportsforecaster made another change to the way they present their game logs so this has been kept the stat scraper from pulling the previous nights stats. I updated our program to accommodate this change so these should be showing up once again.

I just added the code to track detailed shot locations and outcomes for all skaters and goalies. This data should assist in figuring out the best way to level out the scoring and bring it more in line with the current NHL scoring.
The one downside is that it might impact the stability of the nightly runs where as because it is writing a good bunch of extra data, there will be an increased likelihood over the next few nights that the SQL connection might time out and cause the games to fail. I will be out tonight but will try to monitor as much as possible over the next few days.

I'm pretty sure there's still an issue...
For yesterday's games, it shows Suffolk had 5 skaters...but they ALL only played between 4 and 7 minutes of total ice time.
However, on NHL.com
Burakovsky skated for - 17:09 Miromanov - 13:03 Tanev - 19:27 Leason - 12:10 Kulikov - 18:52
PLAYERS NOT LISTED AT ALL Borgen - 16:00 Johnny Brodzinski - DNP last night
Just wanted to point it out in case it hurts their overall points/ratings/cards

Actually, I checked and almost ALL of the teams who had players skate last night are having this same issue. Some, have a mix between full stats listed, only a portion of their players stats and some have "unknown" listed for their players stats with no stats allotted.

When I went to it this morning it had 2 or 3 occurrences for each game on there. Perhaps they were from the "in progress" status. I just checked her at almost 5PM EST and it looks like they finally fixed their page. I just re-kicked off the program to show last nights stats. As a reminder, these nightly/yearly stats have no impact at all on current or future cards.

3 items:
1) I moved all of the goalie/shot discussions from this thread to an appropriately named thread in the Owners forum. My thinking is that there was enough discussion that a separate thread to handle it was warranted.
2) It appears that the sportsforecaster site finally has fixed their side with adding stats for all players. I know I had several that were not showing up for the past month or so but when I checked today, they looked to be back. Hopefully this is fixed moving forward as well.
3) Related to #2 above, I modified when the program runs to retrieve the previous nights stats. I had it running at 6:30AM everyday and it sesms as if most days the stats weren't ready by that time. I modified the program to run at 7:30AM EST and that has worked well over the last few days.

Glenn, FYI Dawson Mercer does not show stats in the sports forecaster.

That’s likely because his player profile on the sports forecaster has a 404 error.
