45 minimum and 50 maximum. You need to have at least 5 goalies and no more than 6 goalies as well. The numbers above do not include prospects. There will need to be a number of prospects cap as well. I am inclined right now to have that number being somewhere in the 12 to 15 range. What is a "prospect" defined as, Glenn and does that mean we have to get 12 of them before the start of the season? Scott defined them below and the cap of 12-15 means no team can have more than X prospects in their system where x= 12 to 15.

Are we still doing LTIR ? and it will go at the end of UFAs I didn't even know we had LTIR. It seems like an easy way for owners to get out of bad contracts and hord players. If we have it in place already fine, if we are voting I vote no. We had some debate on this at the end of the year. I think where it was left (someone with time on their hands can use the search tool to find the thread) was that teams would have the ability to LTIR a player who has a fort of 2 or less. This would not be able to take place until after all of the FA was completed (included UFA) and it could not be used on a player that played one game or more using his card this year. This would allow GMs to trade for some higher priced players during the year but would not free them from the burden of the players contract.

New guy question: Which of these count towards your roster #'s and/or cap on day 1 of this season. LTIR: Roster? Cap? No Card players: Roster? Cap? Prospect players: Roster? Cap? I just figured I'd put them all in one place for myself and any future owners' reference. Old guy answers: LTIR: Roster? Cap? No/No No Card players: Roster? Cap? No/Yes (this depends on how they were handled [waived, kept at 100k, etc) Prospect players: Roster? Cap? No/No

Now I have a question...
Scenario - Let's say a player gets waived by his owning team, making him a UFA. Said player slides off the radar and is picked up on a minor league contract for under 500k. He is now eligible for yearly raises until his minor league contract ends or the owning team signs him to another pro contract. When that contract ends, will he be an RFA or UFA and will will be able to track this scenario if it happens?

In the FHL, once a player signs a pro contract he cannot be signed to a minor league contract. He must be signed to another pro contract.

I get that we cant LTIR until after UFA, what about releasing a player with no card? Anyone?
I'd like to use that cap space...

Depends on why they don't have a card.
