I'm getting a large amount of PM's on stuff...
Guys..post your questions to an applicable forum so that everyone can assist.
I know some people feel squeamish about a lot of possible silly questions but seriously, it's easier all around to post them on the forum and that way, everybody learns.
This simulation league may seem a little overwhelming at first, but stick with it folks....it's awesome and you'll be glad you did.

I can 2nd that, get fantasy hockey out of your head, that's the 1st step to recovery, this is completely different and way better. I am on vacation right now and have plenty of time to answer questions. We have a lot of original owners checking in a lot who can all assist and won't steer you wrong.

Thanks to the senior guys for their willingness to assist in getting us all acclimated and up to speed... I'd like to know if a player who didn't play last year, who has no card this year, can be dropped without penalty...

Curious as to the overall impact of playing a guy on his off wing...is this factored into the game's engine?

Good Question Owen....I'm pretty sure any player playing OFF his position or positions plural....incurs a mere 10% penalty across the board to all his attributes.
Only 10%....I've played a guy off wing or off center a few times last year.

Can we trade during RFA? For example if day 1 someone jacks me up and I retain but will need some more cap space can I trade with someone during day 2? Trades can be made but a trade cannot be made on a player who has received an offer sheet. This means that if you did receive an offer that jacks you up and you retain the player, you need to have the trade completed prior to 6:00 PM EST on decision day. This will give other owners the ability to know that an asset has been traded. Bottom line is, you cannot trade a player that has been brought into play during the RFA period.

Absolutely, no minimum, you already know he won't have a card so if you get him, you can sign to just a one year deal.

How many players are we allowed to have on our rosters/system?
As of now I need only 1 player and can afford to give him 37 mil per year

How many players are we allowed to have on our rosters/system? As of now I need only 1 player and can afford to give him 37 mil per year 45 minimum and 50 maximum. You need to have at least 5 goalies and no more than 6 goalies as well. The numbers above do not include prospects. There will need to be a number of prospects cap as well. I am inclined right now to have that number being somewhere in the 12 to 15 range.

Those numbers you see are a little skewed, they include everything you see on your roster now and most likely some of those players won't be there when the season starts...minor leaguers you don't re-sign, draft picks in the prospect section, etc. The minimum is 45 and the max is 50 players on your final roster. You should go through your team and count how many guys you will really have, that will give you a better idea of what you have/need.

New guy question: I understand the max length of contracts is determined by how much you pay. Is there a minimum length for contracts? For example Holmstorm is retiring but his card is worth something this year can you only give him a one year contract? Also, Sal, this is a wise approach with guys you have gone this long into the summer without signing anywhere and especially if he is still unsigned when you choose your contract lengths

Prospects are players that have not played 20 professional games, they are identified in your teams prospects section. You are not required to carry any at all, Glenn was saying that he was going to cap how many you can have as a max number, not how many you have to have.

Sal, I think he's using a "number being somewhere in the 12 to 15 range" to be a maximum. I doubt there would be a minimum of prospects that you'd have to carry.
